Seaman and the Great Northern Adventure (Time Dogs #2)

Author(s): Helen Moss; Misa Saburi (Illustrator)

Junior Fiction 5-9-year-olds

An exciting new illustrated chapter book series for dog-loving readers from writer Helen Moss and artist Misa Saburi

When a pack of senior dogs find themselves transported back in time--and turned into puppies --they must make their way back home, helping real-life historical dogs along the way.

In this second story, Time Dogs: Seaman and the Great Northern Adventure, Baxter, Trevor, Newton, Titch, and Maia--the time dogs --find themselves transported through time and space to 1805 on the Missouri River. There, deep in the wilderness, the puppies must help Seaman, the dog of legendary explorers Lewis and Clark.

Kathleen's review - If you haven't read the first in this series, don't worry about it - as this adventure stands alone. The first book is referenced because the dogs think they're going back to Alaska and are very surprised to find themselves just about as far from Alaska as they can get while still being in what's now the U.S.A. But once again they're involved in real historical events - and adventure in 1805 is way different to now, 200 hundred years later.

An excellent #2 in the series.
